Peach & Gold Styled Shoot for Inspired Brides

The months seem to go by so quickly at the moment! The wedding season so far has been amazing and we have been lucky to have been asked to create some beautiful wedding cakes. So please forgive me for not sharing these photos sooner. Back in June I had the pleasure of being a part of a beautiful photoshoot for Inspired Brides Magazine. I was so excited to be a part of the shoot as the venue was a stone’s throw away from Red Cake HQ! The Old Rectory has had a complete revamp and wow …. they have done a fantastic job. Sarah at inspired Brides organised a team of incredible suppliers for the shoot! (I wouldn’t expect anything less!) Everything was just perfect…… and those flowers from Bumble and wild floral Design….. Wow!

Please do take a look at the list of incredible supplies below

Enjoy xx

Add some colour to your big day!

This collaboration brought together two of my favourite industry friends, Perched Bird Stationery and TOM HUMPHRIES FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY.

Last year Kara from Perched Bird Stationery and I teamed up to create our Mint , Coral & Gold Dessert Table. After the success of our first project we decided it would be rude not to join up again for a new collaboration . This time Kara left the theme idea to me…… from which the Marrakesh Range was born. It was great to work with such beautiful and vibrant colour pallet. Many night were spent researching Moroccan tiles, fabrics, food and architecture before finally reaching our overall look.

Tom from TOM HUMPHRIES FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY spent the day with us shooting a variety of different set ups to capture some beautiful pictures. You can see his work at

Blush and Gold Wedding Cake

I do love a good styled shoot! Having swooned over various blogs at styled shoots, I have often hoped that one day, someone would ask me to be a part of one!  I therefore jumped at the opportunity when Faye from Lacey Lockets approached me and asked me to create a blush & gold dessert table for a photo shoot she was organising.

She pulled together a wealth of suppliers for the shoot including Niche Gifts Cards and Flowers, Leisure Lounge Beautique, Remini Shaw MUA and Duncan James Menswear.

The beautiful stationery is created by Faye herself and the illuminated letters are  hand crafted by her husband! What a talented team they are!

A Sweet Collaboration

The thought of starting a blog scares me a little! I must admit I’ve never been too great with words…..good job I make cakes for living! So I thought I would ease myself in and start with one of my favourite projects from last year.

I first met Kara and her husband Mike from Perched Bird when we were exhibiting next to each other at the NEC National Wedding Show. I was mesmerised by the work Kara produced. The attention to details, elegance, style and originality of her wedding stationery was like nothing I had ever seen before. When Kara then asked to collaborate on a project with her I jumped at the opportunity.

We set the theme, mint, coral and gold. Kara, with originality and flair for design, came up with a new range ‘Neo Folly’. From paper to icing this was the results from our sweet collaboration.
